Kari Baroni - Administrator

As the Administrator for Headwaters Palliative Care, I bring over decades of dedicated nursing experience across a range of healthcare settings, consistently delivering compassionate, high-quality care to patients and their families. My career has cultivated a deep understanding of clinical practice, patient advocacy, and the importance of holistic, person-centered care — all foundational to supporting individuals facing serious illness.

My professional background spans geriatrics, psychiatric nursing, and rural health. In geriatrics, I’ve focused on delivering personalized care that honors the dignity and complex needs of aging populations. My experience in psychiatric nursing has prepared me to compassionately support individuals and families navigating mental health crises. Working in rural health clinics has further enhanced my ability to adapt to resource-limited environments and manage a wide spectrum of patient needs in underserved communities.

In my current leadership role at Headwaters Palliative Care, I guide interdisciplinary teams, advocate for patients’ goals and values, and collaborate closely with families through some of life’s most challenging moments. My administrative experience — including staff coordination, policy implementation, and strategic planning — allows me to build and sustain systems that prioritize comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

Outside of work, I find joy and renewal in spending time with my family, including my husband, children and grandchildren. I enjoy hiking, relaxing at the lake, and being immersed in nature — all of which help me maintain balance, nurture my own well-being, and refuel my capacity to serve others with empathy and strength.
