John Uggetti - Board Certified Chaplain

Born and raised in the vibrant, historic community of Butte, Montana, John Uggetti has woven a rich tapestry of faith, family, and service that defines his life’s calling. Ordained to the permanent diaconate for the Diocese of Helena on June 29, 2012, John has embraced his role as a deacon with heartfelt dedication. His ministry at St. Ann Parish is a source of deep joy, where he shares his compassion and spiritual guidance, uplifting the community with his warm presence and unwavering commitment to serving others.

John’s journey of service extends far beyond the church. For 28 years, he inspired young minds as a devoted educator, shaping countless lives with his wisdom and kindness. As a Board Certified Chaplain, he has spent 18 years with the Spiritual Care Department at Intermountain Health St. James, offering solace and support to patients and families during their most challenging moments. Married to his lifelong partner, Laura Walsh Uggetti, a fellow Butte native, John cherishes their shared roots and the love they’ve nurtured together. Their adult son, Mario, continues to make them proud, calling Butte home as well. John’s life is a testament to faith, family, and the enduring spirit of community in the heart of Montana.
