Losing a loved one, even when you’ve had weeks or months to emotionally prepare yourself, is a significant, painful event in the lives of many people. For us at Headwaters Hospice and Palliative Care, LLC, it is a solemn privilege we have to help families come to terms with their loved one’s passing and provide support during the bereavement process.
We provide preventative care models that help to grieve in a healthy manner. This program is available to family, caregivers, and close friends of hospice patients from the time of admission until 13 months after passing.
We know just how overwhelming even the simplest tasks of communicating with your loved one’s friends and other relatives can be after they pass. As part of our extended hospice services, we can help you come to terms with your feelings and provide insight, advice, and support as you manage the financial and legal tasks required, provide funeral, wake, or burial details to friends and family, and simply come to terms with your loved one’s passing.
Grief is a process of adjustment. Our compassionate care team is here to support the entire family of our hospice patients, not just the person who is ill. Please contact us today to learn more about our services.
Bereavement Resources From Headwaters Hospice And Palliative Care
Our hospice bereavement support extends for the first year after the death of your loved one. We offer support, help you connect with grief support groups in your area, and can keep in regular contact with you and your family. We take a holistic approach to address your psychological and emotional needs.
Grief support groups can help you better understand the grieving process and its stages. You can also derive comfort from others who have recently lost someone they love. We encourage you to share your unique experience of loss and find healing and comfort in remembering your loved one.
There are plenty of unique resources in the Helena community, as well. The grief support counselors at Headwaters Hospice and Palliative Care can help you learn about grief support, especially for widows and widowers, adult children grieving the loss of a parent, and age-appropriate support for younger children. We can also help with referrals for counselors and therapists, both individual and family, if needed.
Supporting You After Losing Someone You Love
The grieving experience is unique to each person, but many people experience normal feelings during it. We can help you identify anger, sorrow, sadness, and frustration and develop healthy ways to process them. We may also help you make plans to reconnect with other family members or develop relationships in your community or body of faith.
Holistic palliative and hospice care involves much more than simply making the patient comfortable in their last days. The holistic approach of Headwaters Hospice and Palliative Care includes support and comfort for the family, too. We offer bereavement support before your loved one passes so you can offer more support to them and help you identify and understand your feelings. Through care, support, and compassion, our team is with you through this life change. We do it because we C.A.R.E.
